Plastic rugs are very thick floor coverings that are usually made out of the blend of virgin polypropylene (PPL) and polystyrene. The plastic rugs can be indoor or outdoor and are mostly used to cover, floors of buildings and automobiles, beds and hearth of fireplaces. Plastic rugs are much better than textile rugs because plastic rugs does not absorb dust easily and are very durable, highly resistant to chemicals and very inexpensive.
The main reason for using polypropylene in plastic rug manufacturing is economy. The polypropylene is more wear-resistant than wool or nylon. The plastic rugs are available in abundance and that too in an assortment of colors and designs which can be very easily accessed. Due to increasing market demand for plastic rugs, the plastic rug manufacturers are facing very intense competition among themselves.
